Description

Cowberry, scientific Vaccinium vitis - idaea L. - plant of the genus Vaccinium, of the heather family. Its roots are creeping, braided by thin branched threads, absorbing mineral substances and transmitting to the roots. Branched shoots, rising up to 15-20 cm.

The berries grow in dense clusters (from 2 to 9 pieces each), bright red, round, multi-seeded in diameter up to 8 mm. In the upper part of the fruit there is a dried cup. Berry ripening occurs in August-September, but they differ in conventional frost resistance.
