Organic products in Ukraine over the past 5 years increased by 90%

Taras Kutovoy, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, at the opening of the first international congress "Organic Ukraine 2017. The development of the organic market in Ukraine - from production to sale," said that the number of industries that produce organic products increased by 90%, becoming one of the most dynamic industries. According to the minister, only 400,000 hectares of land have now been allocated for organic products. “I believe that this figure can be increased several times absolutely easily,” said Taras Kutovoy and stressed the relevance of organic products on the world market. “In the negotiations, international partners say that under certain conditions, despite the closeness of their markets for import, they are ready to accept organic products. I consider this a very good indicator. In fact, the demand for organic products is very huge,” the minister stressed.

Recall that it was the development of organic production that became the priority of the work of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy for 2017, during which a special law was drafted, which has already received the support of the Cabinet of Ministers.
