For Sale: The Longtime Estate Of Toys 'R' Us Founder Charles Lazarus

Toys 'R' Us founder Charles Lazarus has sold his share of toys over the years. The latest is a personal one, a sprawling Hamptons estate that could easily be described as a play house.

According to the New York Daily News, the Quogue, New York property is for sale, with an asking price of $13.5 million.

The six-bedroom, eight-bedroom mansion comes equipped with a boathouse, in-ground pool, and a guesthouse designed to resemble a lighthouse. It also has a peculiar amenity that is sure to set it apart from other mansions in the area: a professional croquet court with a designated viewing area.

And, as the property sits on Shinnecock Bay, the views from the 6,500-square-foot house are breathtaking.

Although the listing agents, from Brown Harris Stevens declined to confirm the identity of the owner to the New York Daily News, they did confirm it has been in the same family for 30 years. And both the Daily News, and The Real Deal believe that family is indeed that of Charles Lazarus.
