Maslov drew attention to the fact that, by its nature, a tomato is a creeping plant, not adapted to growing in an upright position. The main thing that is worth noting is that the Maslov method does not provide for the staging of tomatoes, as is customary in conventional methods. He suggests using these sprouts to form additional bushes. They are also cleaned of leaves, bent down to the ground and covered with soil 10 cm.
Within a week, new leaves will appear at the place of burial, and in a month they will form independent bushes, increasing the yield of the plant. Hence, another nuance in the question of how to grow tomatoes according to Maslov: seedlings should be planted at a distance of one meter from each other. Then stepchildren will have room to grow.
As for the care of planted seedlings, then gardeners do not expect innovation. Often those owners who use the Maslov method, water the tomatoes in an aryk way.
At a short distance from the plants, shallow furrows are dug in the aisle along which water is let in during irrigation. This does not allow the ground around the plants to harden.
Watering should be done moderately, do not overdo it, because tomatoes do not like excessive moisture. The same applies to various dressings. If during planting you add a little bit of humus to the wells, this will be enough for normal plant development. But some experts recommend making nettle infusion, liquid mullein solutions to increase yields.
Despite the fact that the bush at the bottom bends down and takes root deeply, a garter plant is still needed. Maslov recommends tightening a soft knitting wire, a fishing or tennis core, a thick nylon thread, to which the plant stalks are attached with rubber bands.
Major experts in the field of crop production initially perceived Maslov’s method with distrust. But the gardeners, who became interested and ventured to use it on their beds, were very pleased with the results: the yield per bush increased 2 - 2.5 times. The method requires an earlier than usual sowing of seeds for seedlings. This will subsequently provide an opportunity to take root when taking off into the open ground and bear fruit to the stepsons.
