In January 2017, Ukraine significantly increased the export of flax seeds

According to official statistics, in January 2017, Ukraine exported 12.3 thousand tons of flaxseed, an increase of 55% compared with December 2016 (8 thousand tons) and 3.8 times compared with volumes in January 2016 (3 , 3 thousand tons). These export figures have reached the highest monthly figure for the last 10 seasons.

In January 2017, all major importing countries increased their purchases of Ukrainian oilseeds. At the same time, Turkey showed the most significant growth rates (2.9 thousand tons against 88 tons in the previous month and 42 tons in January 2016), which moved the country to the second position in the ranking of leading importers. Traditionally, Vietnam (6.1 thousand tons, 5.3 thousand tons and 2.2 thousand tons, respectively) remained in the first position.

As a rule, during 5 months of the season 2016-2017 (September-January) Ukraine exported 33.8 thousand tons of flax seeds, which is 50% more compared to the same period in 2015-2016. (22.6 thousand tons).
