The Russian Ministry of Agriculture does not expect any problems with a shortage of high-quality food grains in the country, said Vladimir Volik, director of the Department for the Regulation of Agricultural Markets of the Ministry of Agriculture, on February 13. According to the official, the ministry estimates that at the end of the season food wheat stocks in Russia will be about 16 million tons. And the fourth grade of wheat will make up the bulk of the volume of grain and will fully cover all the needs of the country. Nevertheless, this problem is very significant for some regions, because today Russia has certain problems with land transport of grain cargoes. Thus, in the regions of Siberia, most high-quality wheat stocks are concentrated, while other regions may face a shortage of such high-quality food grains in the future.
In turn, the Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, Yevgeny Gromyko, acknowledged that there is some decline in the quality parameters of Russian grain due to the lack of direct state control over control measures.
