UPDATE: Dorothy's Iconic Blue Dress Sold For $1.56 Million

UPDATE: The beloved blue and white dress worn by Judy Garland in the movie The Wizard of Oz is on its way to its brand new home, no ruby slippers or heel clicking required. Just $1.56 million, which the iconic item sold for at Bonhams Auction House, according to Page Six.

Impressively, the final cost was actually $360,000 more than the pre-sale estimate.

If you're still looking for the perfect holiday present for the movie lovers in your life, the Treasures from the Dream Factory auction put on by TCM and Bonhams Auction House is here to help.

The auction, which kicks off November 23 is chock full of impressive bits of Hollywood history, including one particularly impressive relic - one of the iconic blue and white gingham dresses Judy Garland wore while filming the classic film The Wizard of Oz.

The dress (above) won't come cheap though, as it's expected to bring in between $800,000 and $1.2 million, so interested buyers should be prepared to fork over some serious cash to bring home a little piece of Oz.

Also set to be auctioned off are a series of photos of a young Walt Disney, several of Natalie Wood's scripts, costumes worn by Tom Hanks in Forrest Gump and the infamous sled from Citizen Kane.
