Kate Middleton is one of the most public people in the world-but she actually hasn't given a televised interview in more than five years. But the Duchess of Cambridge is set to open up in a new documentary honoring her grandmother-in-law, Queen Elizabeth II.
The Queen at Ninety is set to celebrate the monarch as she celebrates her big birthday in April. The program is a two-hour-long documentary that "aims to offer a fresh insight into our monarch's life and work" will air on the British cable channel ITV. The documentary features participation from Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla, plus Prince William and Kate, along with other world leaders.
"We've been fortunate to have the participation of so many members of the royal family to mark this historic milestone in the life of The Queen," Nick Kent, executive produce of Oxford Film and Television, said in a statement. "It's a remarkable story of an extraordinary life which in so many ways reflects the changing face of the nation."
The last time Kate sat down for a formal TV interview was in 2010, when she and Prince William first got engaged. Though the couple has had plenty of new life events to talk about, it's likely they'll focus on the Queen. The special will take place around the same time as an epic, sold-out birthday celebration on the grounds of Windsor Castle. According to People, it will be held from May 12-15, telling the Queen's life story using 900 horses, and 1,500 actors, musicians, and dancers. Talk about a party fit for royalty.
