In nature, found in the steppes and mountain meadows. It has branched stems up to 1.5 m high, strongly creeping rhizome and lance-ovate foliage.
Fruit - a three-edged shiny nutlet of brown color. It blooms in July - August, ripens in September. Very unpretentious and aggressive, which earned the name of a decorative weed. Other names of alpine mountaineer: Bashkir cabbage, alpine buckwheat.

It grows on rocky slopes. Reaches 30-40 cm in height.
The leaves are elliptical with short cups, sometimes hairy. Stem spreading-branched, upright. Flowers are collected in small inflorescences located on the tops of the branches and the main stem. Perianth white or pinkish.

Candle

Half-shrub 50 cm high. It blooms with white-green flowers. It has several varieties, and accordingly, different color of leaves.

The homeland of this mountaineer is the Himalayas. Creeping perennial grass, reaching a height of 15 cm. Forms large groups.
