The Moscow Institute for Agricultural Market Studies (ICAR) reports that cooling is expected in the period from January 27 to February 4 and poses a threat to winter wheat in some areas of the southern regions of Rostov and Krasnodar in Russia. According to the head of the IKAR, Dmitry Rylko, the temperature is expected to fall in the Rostov region and Krasnodar region to -17 ° C, where the area is currently not protected by snow. ICAR estimates that large areas in Rostov and Krasnodar are under threat, since these areas are important for wheat production.
Across the border, in Ukraine, satellite images clearly show zones without snow, passing through the southern regions of Odessa, Nikolaev, Kherson regions and Crimea, which at first glance looks like a much more serious problem than in Russia.
