The Olympic Torch Once Carried By Caitlyn Jenner Is Going Up For Auction

Fans of Caitlyn Jenner now have a chance to own a significant piece of the reality star's past as a celebrated Olympian.

According to People.com, the Olympic torch Jenner, who then identified as Bruce, carried through Lake Tahoe, Nevada in 1984 is heading to the auction block on July 30th.

The brass torch will be offered up as part of Heritage Auctions Platinum Night Sports auction in Chicago, and is expected to bring in as much as $20,000.

Chris Ivy, Heritage's director of sports auctions explained to the Associated Press that the torch perfectly represents Jenner's life journey and transition from male to female.

"This torch serves as a wonderful symbol that masculinity and femininity are not mutually exclusive," he said. "The decathlon has long been considered the ultimate athletic proving ground. Jenner has played both gender roles masterfully."
