After passing away in January, socialite and philanthropist Carroll Petrie left behind a number of legacies, including the extravagant Fifth Avenue residence she once shared with her late husband, business tycoon and billionaire Milton Petrie. Now, the estate is on the market for a soaring $30 million.
The apartment, located on Manhattan's Upper East Side, overlooks Central Park and offers sweeping views of the city, which look especially stunning from the wraparound terrace.
With 11 rooms, there's luxury to spare. Aside from two bedrooms and four bathrooms, the apartment boasts a library, powder room, living room, butler's pantry, eat-in kitchen, wine vault, and an entire wing for staff.
While the kitchen has been updated with a more modern feel, most of the home recalls the history of the space. Many original details remain, including period mantle pieces, marble pillars and floors, and hand-carved moldings.
It may not have a royal pedigree, like a recently listed pad just a few blocks away, but its register of former tenants isn't something to scoff at. In addition to being home to the Petrie family, 6sqft reports that Laurance Rockefeller, Elizabeth Arden, Rupert Murdoch, and Eugenie and John Radziwill all once lived at the Fifth Avenue building.
