- According to the first version, “Krasnostop” is derived from “Cabernet Sauvignon”; his seedlings were brought to the Don land by the Cossacks after the campaigns to France in 1812.
- According to the second version, the variety has Dagestan roots. There is a version that it was brought in the VIII century from the Dagestan territories, where it was distributed in the north of the country.
