"Tetramizole": a brief description of the drug
"Tetramisole" in veterinary medicine is used to kill roundworms in the gastrointestinal tract and lungs of domestic animals. After being ingested by a worm, it acts on its central nervous system, which causes paralysis of the worm.

Dosage and method of use for animals
Granules "Tetramizol" give the specified categories of animals in the morning time of the day without any additional preparations.Drug administration is made through the oral cavity, that is, it is used together with food or water.
Before mass application for a large number of animals, should be tested on 5 individuals. Such actions are due to the fact that the drug can give complications due to low immunity in animals or conflict with other drugs (including antibiotics).
"Tetramizole" 10% dose for pigs: per 1 kg of weight give 100 mg of the drug. However, it is worth remembering that regardless of the weight of the pig, the maximum dose per animal is 45 g. Excess dosage leads to unpredictable consequences. For group treatment of pigs, the substance can be added to feed at the rate of 1.5 g per 10 kg of live weight. The quantity of feed should be such that the livestock can consume it in 1 hour.
10% solution is used for the treatment of cattle in such doses: per 1 kg of live weight give 80 mg of the composition. If you use the drug for young animals, then it should be given in 1.5-2 months after entering the pasture. Adult cattle are usually treated in the autumn, before moving to a new pasture or in closed premises. "Tetramizol" 10% dosage for poultry: per 1 kg of live weight take 200 mg of the drug. It is impossible to give medicine with feed, only infusion with a syringe.
For sheep, 10% of the composition is used in the following dosage: per 1 kg of weight give 75 mg of the drug.
It is worth noting that the dosage is NOT indicated for the pure substance, but for the drug (remember that the pure substance in the medicine is 10%).
As stated above, "Tetramisol" is available in two forms: 10% and 20%, but the instructions for use are identical, as in the case of a 20% composition, all the above doses are divided by 2.
Side effects and contraindications
Applying "Tetramisol" in these doses side effects are not observed. However, it should not be given to animals that are sick with infectious diseases, in the last third of pregnancy, in case of violation of the proper functioning of the liver and kidneys. Also, the drug is not allowed to use simultaneously with other anthelmintic compounds ("Pirantel", "Morantel"), as well as with any organophosphorus compounds.
By minor contraindications can be attributed, and application to some other groups of animals (dogs, cats, horses, etc.). For example, "Tetramizol", according to the instructions, is not used to treat rabbits, therefore, it is impossible to find the dosage and properly treat the animals.
