The United States is ready to negotiate on the supply of Ukrainian organic wheat in the domestic market, said Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Taras Kutovoy. According to him, the United States has very much regulated laws in the field of food safety due to which it is quite difficult to introduce new products to the market. But the country is ready for negotiations on organic wheat supply, because it is a popular global trend. And Ukraine has the necessary soil for such production. In addition, T. Kutovoy noted that the prospects for the organic market in Ukraine are very high. Today, the country owns almost one third of global black earth soils, and also exports a very small proportion of organic products compared to the global organic market.
Ukraine exports about 80% of organic products. But the global organic market is $ 100 billion. And Ukraine exports such products only for 17 million euros. Thus, farmers must increase exports, and begin exporting value-added products, the minister added.
