"Enroksil": instructions for use in veterinary medicine

Enroxil: general information and composition

The drug "Enroxil" is available in several dosage forms:

  • tablets (15 mg, 50 mg, 100 mg), the active ingredient is enrofloxacin;
  • powder 5%, odorless, yellowish. Packing: packages weighing 1 kg, 25 kg - drum, the main active ingredient is enrofloxacin;
  • Enroxil for poultry is produced as a 10% solution for oral use, in glass containers of 100 ml, 1 liter in a container made of polyethylene, the active element is enrofloxacin;
  • injection 5%, the main substance - enrofloxacin, auxiliary - water for injection, butanol, potassium hydroxide.
Enroxil is intended for cattle and small ruminants (for goats), pigs, poultry, cats and dogs. It is prescribed for the treatment of respiratory diseases, with problems with the urogenital system and the gastrointestinal tract caused by viral microorganisms and bacterial infections.

Pharmacological properties

Enroxil in veterinary medicine is used as a broad-spectrum drug. He belongs to the group fluoroquinolones. These are antibiotics that destroy the infection at the cellular level, substances are quickly absorbed, removed for a long time, which allows them to act in the body for a long period.

Enroxil fights against bacterial microorganisms in case of respiratory diseases, skin of animals, urinary system, diseases of the stomach, intestines, actively helps to overcome mycoplasma infections.

Enroxil in pill form is convenient for dogs and cats. The pills have the smell of meat, so the animal does not have to torment to force to swallow the medicine.The tablet, getting into the stomach, is quickly absorbed by the mucous membrane, after a couple of hours after taking the maximum concentration of the drug is observed in the blood. Drug use

Enroxil has no complicated instructions for use, it is necessary to know from what age and in what form to give the drug to animals.

Injections of the drug are prescribed to agricultural animals and dogs for such diseases: salmonellosis, streptococcosis, necrotic enteritis, mycoplasmosis, campylobacterium hepatitis, colibacteriosis, hemophilia, bacterial and enzootic pneumonia, colisepticemia, atrophic rhinitis, pasteurellosis.
Enroxil tablets for cats and dogs can be mixed into the feed. Cats are allowed to give the drug from two months of age, dogs of small breeds - from the year, large breeds - from the age of 18 months.

Good effect is observed in the treatment of chlamydia in cats and rickettsiosis in dogs. It is also prescribed to dogs and cats with infected wounds, infections of the urogenital system and digestive organs, respiratory diseases, otitis.

Dosage

Using the drug "Enroksil", it is important to know the dosage for each type of animal.

The solution for injection of 5% is administered subcutaneously to sheep, goats and calves, intramuscularly to sows, piglets and gilts for three days once a day. Dosage: per 20 kg of animal weight - 1 ml of the drug.

With salmonellosis once a day for five days, dosage: per 10 kg of weight - 1 ml of the drug.

The dogs are given injections subcutaneously, the course of treatment is five days, once a day, dosage - per 10 kg of weight of 1 ml of solution.

The oral solution is given to poultry along with water. In case of salmonellosis, the course of treatment will be five days, in other cases three. Enroxil, following the instructions for use for chickens, calculated 5 ml per 10 liters of drinking water; for birds older than 28 days - 10 ml per 10 liters of water. Medicinal solution is prepared at the rate of poultry water needs.

Cats give the following pills: 1 tablet per 3 kg of weight, up to two times a day, for 5-10 days.

Dogs - 1 tablet per 3 kg of body weight twice a day. The course lasts from five to ten days. Both types of animals eat the drug with food.

Enroxil is a safe drug, overdose symptoms in animals and birds have not been identified.

Contraindications and side effect

Chicken-laying hens are strictly contraindicated: enrofloxacin enters the egg. Individual intolerance to the drug. It is not advisable to give the drug to kittens up to two months of age, puppies up to one year.

Attention! Do not combine the use of the drug "Enroksil" with other anti-inflammatory drugs: macrolides, tetracyclines, chloramphenicol, theophylline and other nonsteroidal drugs.

When injecting Enroxil, in order to avoid a painful reaction, no more than 5 ml of large animals should be administered in one place, 2.5 ml for small animals (rabbits).

It is impossible to prescribe the drug to pregnant animals and dairy cattle, it is not recommended to take the drug for kidney disease in animals.

Terms and conditions of storage of the drug

The drug "Enroxil" in the form of tablets is stored in a dry and dark place, the storage temperature is from 5 to 25 degrees Celsius. Shelf life - no more than two years.

The drug for injection and oral solution is stored under the same conditions, the duration of storage is three years.
