In February, Ukraine will fill out quotas for duty-free export of poultry meat and corn to the EU for 2017

In February, Ukraine will completely fill out the annual quotas for 2017 for the duty-free export of poultry meat to the European Union, February 2, the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Taras Kutovoy said. According to him, by mid-February, Ukraine will close quotas for poultry meat. In addition, the country has already filled in quotas for the supply of corn.

The minister said that such small volumes of European quotas are severely limited by Ukrainian manufacturing companies. Quotas in some segments of the market are significantly lower compared with the capabilities of Ukrainian enterprises. Thus, to date, the Ministry provides for negotiations on certain points.

But in the EU there are even some plans to further reduce the quota for corn, because Ukraine has a large-scale potential for the production of grain. And Ukrainian corn shows more competitive value than European grain, Kutovoy added. Recall that in 2017, the quota for duty-free export of Ukrainian poultry meat to the EU market in general is 16.8 thousand tons, and corn - 400 thousand tons.
