Aihrizone (or as it is popularly called the tree of love) is a member of the Tolstyankov family, which grows mainly in rock crevices in the Canary and Azores, as well as in Morocco, Portugal and Madeira. This family includes fifteen species of annual and perennial herbaceous succulent plants (sometimes semi-shrubs are also found).

Often grown and indoor plants at home, but in some cases, growers complain that it does not grow. Moreover, often the "tree of love" leaves fall, and it loses an attractive appearance. Of course, in both cases, the reason for such unpleasant consequences are the mistakes made in the care, which means that before you take up the cultivation of aichrizone, you must understand what you may encounter. In this article we will tell you about the most common causes of problems when growing the "tree of love".

Wrong choice of lighting

Like many other indoor plants, it blooms in the summer period, delighting florists with small panicles with flowers of various shades: from red to yellow. However, in some cases, the leaves of the love tree wilt, and for some reason it does not bloom (in such cases, the airshyne loses all its decorativeness). There may be several explanations for this phenomenon, but first of all, you should pay attention to the specifics of lighting and watering. This plant prefers scattered sunlight, so it is better to put the pot on the windowsills on the east or west side of the house. The south side, on the contrary, is not the best place to grow such plants, since you have to constantly pritenyat them (tulle, translucent fabric or medical gauze is well suited for these purposes).

At the same time, growing on the north side of the house, the light-loving flower will suffer from a lack of lighting and you will not have to think for a long time: why doesn’t flowering of ayrizzone. With reduced illumination, the probability of flowering of aykhrizone is reduced. Simply put, the plant should receive at least 6 hours of continuous sunlight, and variegated forms are considered the most sensitive to intensity.

Errors when irrigating airflow

Watering plays an important role in growing absolutely any plant. As for airflow directly, The mode of introduction of liquid into the soil should be as follows:

• in the spring and summer season - with a slight drying of the land between irrigation;
• in the autumn-winter season (subject to the recommended cultivation temperature) - with significant drying of the soil between irrigations.

If, during the cold season, airflow is in a room with a temperature of more than +16 ° C, then the frequency of watering must necessarily be based on the drying out of the soil: that is, until the soil is covered with a light crust, the plant will not need to make a liquid. Watering plants should be drip (top way), since the bottom (flooding) can lead to unpleasant consequences.

Lack of moisture

Determine the lack of moisture in the "tree of love" can be swelling (turgora) shoots and leaves. As we have just noted, the high resistance of the plant to pressing the palm indicates that the airflow does not need to make a liquid, at least at a specific point in time, but if the airflow leaves leaves or they become too wrinkled, then the flower has long suffered from thirst. Nevertheless, the state of health of the described succulent depends not only on the regularity of irrigation, but also on the quality of the water used. In extreme cases, if you do not have time to stock the right amount of water for irrigation, you can use distilled or boiled water several times (not constantly). It is possible to reduce the rigidity with the help of a few grains of citric acid, but even here it is important not to overdo it, because otherwise it is impossible to speak about the normal development of aichrizone.

Do not forget about the humidity in the room.In spite of the fact that the described succulent is sufficiently resistant to dry air, it gratefully responds to periodic washing under a warm shower. However, this procedure should not be carried out in the period of rest of the plant.

Excess moisture

With a lack of moisture in airflow, the leaves quickly turn yellow and fall off, but this does not mean that when a similar problem is found, it is necessary to immediately fill it with water. If after a long break in watering, you dramatically saturate the soil with plenty of moisture, then most likely it will lead to decay of the root system of the plant and the bases of the shoots. In the case when it was not possible to avoid such a scenario, it will be necessary to re-root the airzone, which will take some time.

Of course, in the summertime, the bush is watered much more frequently and more abundantly, however, it is important to timely remove the water flowing into the pan. Even if the roots and shoots do not immediately begin to rot, there is a high probability of the development of fungal diseases, which also quickly destroy the plant. With the arrival of winter, it is better to reduce the regularity of watering to a minimum, since it is during this period that there is a high probability of stagnant liquid.

How does high temperature affect airflow

Many gardeners can not but rejoice the fact that airflow is quite unpretentious to the temperature conditions of cultivation. Therefore, you do not have to suffer over the creation of a tropical rain forest climate in a city apartment.

The optimum temperature for vegetative development of a plant is + 20 ° C ... + 25 ° C, and the average temperature of winter maintenance should be at + 10 ° C ... + 12 ° C (the minimum average temperature indicator is + 8 ° C).

In the spring-summer period, the Aihrizone feels fine at a normal room temperature of + 20 ° C ... + 25 ° C, which means that no special conditions are required for normal plant development. Also in the summer, you can place a pot with a plant on the balcony, but only in a shade.

Of course, in winter, the plant requires a significant decrease in the temperature in the room, but these figures should be reduced gradually, starting from the first fall of cold weather. Since the ideal temperature for the winter content of airflow is considered to be + 8 ° C ... + 12 ° C, often in the room with the plant they simply turn off the heating, but if there is no such possibility, it is better to move the pot to the balcony (provided it is closed and warmed).

In a pinch, find your pot the coolest place in the apartment. The winter air content above the indicated temperature indices will lead to an increase in the length of internodes, as a result of which the plant will quickly stretch and lose its decorative appearance.

It is also important to note that some flower growers, when growing ayhrizone at home, notice that at the end of winter his leaves turn yellow. It would seem that a plant that is at rest should calmly survive the winter, but in some cases the supply of nutrients is consumed even before the end of the cold weather. In this situation, the leaves are not easy to turn yellow, but often fall off. To solve the problem, try lowering the temperature of the content and reducing watering, which again plunges the plant into sleep until spring.
