Victorian England created space for all kinds of adventure lovers. The most dangerous, but also the most profitable, was the harvest of plant hunters. They went to China and Latin America, where at every step they were in mortal danger, in order to bring into the metropolis the bulb of the most capricious flower - orchids.
Thanks to these risky trips, Charles Darwin was able to explore the history of evolution on orchids.
