Autumn in the country: how to make an organic garden bed

In our bustling and stressful area, there are more and more people who want to take a break from the city in their summer cottage in the summer, while at the same time putting vegetables and fruits on the family table without various “chemicals”.

In this regard, more and more summer residents follow the idea of organic farming, the main goal of which is to preserve and improve soil fertility by natural means. To do this, it is not necessary to regularly dig the bed and apply fertilizer. It is enough now, in the autumn, to create the conditions for work in the spring.

We build organic beds in the country

The most difficult step in the arrangement of "smart" organic beds - dig up the ground under it twice. You will need a rectangular spade, a pitchfork and a board - flooring in the planned width of the bed (meter - one and a half, not more, otherwise it will be inconvenient to reach the middle from either side).

So, plan a garden bed. The form can be completely arbitrary..

We will spill the soil with water, at first only moistening the surface, after a while more strongly. Now the bed should stand for a day. The next day, before digging, we again pour the earth and begin work in one and a half - two hours.
We lay the board on the bed, pushing it a little more than the width of the shovel from the edge. We remove a layer of turf about five to ten centimeters thick, clean out the roots of weeds, put it on the path.

Similarly, we act along the whole length of the bed, moving along the board. Next, remove the layer of soil, carefully, trying not to mix and turn over, we fold at the end of the bed. This manipulation will not destroy the delicate balance of microflora in the humus.

Now at the bottom of the resulting groove deeply loosened the earth. To do this, we lift with a fork and immediately lower the soil layer about thirty centimeters. The previously excavated layers of turf are placed on the bottom of the trench with vegetation down.
The next step will be the introduction of organic fertilizers: a layer of semi-mature manure, not yet matured compost, chopped weeds without roots, green siderates are poured down.

We move the board further and, similarly to the first, we begin to dig out the next groove. Layer of soil, dug out of it, gently, without stirring, we fall asleep first. Finishing the “smart” garden digging, the last groove is filled with soil removed from the first trench.

You can immediately arrange the edges of the sides - from boards, slate, any other suitable material.
We condense the earth, putting the board and trampling on it. Move the board along the entire length. It is necessary to deepen the middle somewhat so that when watering the water does not flow down from the bed. Pour the bed with a solution of fungicide and hide under the dark covering material until spring.

Smart Organic Garden Ready!

At first, it will rise fifteen to twenty centimeters above the level of the path, later the ground will settle. Now it is possible to walk on it exclusively on the flooring.

The smart bed has excellent breathability and can hold water, so next year it will not need frequent watering, constant weeding, and now it’s not necessary to dig it up. In the feeding of organic beds also will not be necessary.
