Outdoor Furniture With Style

Bunny Williams is nothing if not practical. When Century Furniture hired her to design an outdoor line, she thought about what she wanted in her garden pieces: lightweight, durable materials and versatile aesthetics. "I have some iron chairs that require three people to move," she says. "And the rattan furniture I see on the market is either contemporary or Edwardian."

The pieces she created tackle those issues with élan: resin rattan chaises and chairs with chinoiserie-inspired legs; classic teak benches with Lutyens-esque lines. Deep seats and pitched backs ensure no one sacrifices comfort when moving outside. "I wanted to keep it simple and strong," says Williams. "That's the kind of design that interests me."
