The Beatles' First Recording Contract Is Hitting The Auction Block

What goes around comes around, and for Beatles fans that means a rare opportunity to own a piece of music history.

According to the Associated Press, Heritage Auctions will be offering up a variety of authentic Beatles memorabilia -- including photos, documents, artwork and autographs -- from the collection of a Beatles historian and expert Uwe Blaschke on September 19th in New York City.

Perhaps most importantly, the collection includes the first recording contract The Beatles ever signed, during their three month stint as the backup band for the British singer Tony Sheridan at the Top Ten Club in Hamburg, Germany.

The contract was for a rock cover of "My Bonnie" done along with Sheridan, and the song was credited to Tony Sheridan and the Beat Boys. The original six-page document, featuring the signatures of Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison, and original drummer Pete Best, is expected to draw in at least $150,000 at the auction.

After releasing that single, The Beatles quickly caught the attention of record executives back in England and, after replacing Best with Ringo Starr, soon began their ascent to superstardom.

Take a look at the historic contract and a few of them up for auction, in the photos below.
