Coreopsis Drummond

Coreopsis Drummond - a shrub that grows up to 60 cm, with a branchy thin stalk, pale green feathery leaves. The inflorescences are represented by one basket 5 cm in diameter.The color of the flower is interesting: the orange shaggy center is framed by bright yellow petals with red-brown spots at the base. Petals are gear, reed form. Coriopsis blooms in July, blooming through October. Rarely, but there are varieties with red shades of petals. The most popular varieties of Drummond:

• Golden Crown - a large flower with numerous petals, closer to the middle of the flower, the edges of the petals are bent inwards, because of this, the golden flower seems to be a terry ball.
• "Erly Sunrise" - a semi-double coresopsis with yellow flowers, amber petals have irregular edges with cloves of unequal size.
• Mystigri - this variety is more like a daisy, darker yellow centers are surrounded by lighter petals in the shape of an elongated oval with a pointed tip.

Coreopsis dyeing

The most popular form of coriopsis is coreopsis dyeing. Flower seeds, soaked in water, give it a yellow color, hence the name of the species. It is a bush up to a meter tall with a strong, straight stem, thin and branched. The bulk of the leaves are collected at the base of the stem, the feathery form is twice divided, the leaves are single on the stem above.

Inflorescences - single baskets 3 - 5 cm in diameter. Flowers with reed petals can be painted in all shades of yellow and red. Flowers with tubular petals often darker shades. Coreopsis dyeing blooms magnificently. It begins flowering in June and ends at the first frost. After flowering forms a sickle-shaped fruit containing small dark glossy seeds. Coreopsis feruistny

Perennial Coreopsis

Perennial coreopsis is a species of grassy and shrubby, subshrub plants. The root system is fibrous. It is united by a straight strong stalk, often well-branched, the height of plants varies from 20 cm to 1 m depending on the variety. The stem is leafy, there are also radical leafy rosettes and higher in the stalk. The shape of the leaves at the base of the stem is larger, the stem - smaller, feathery or palmate. Single baskets of Coropsis perennial flowers are terry or simple, rather large - up to 8 cm in diameter. Coloring from pale lemon to purple and dark burgundy shades, reed and tubular petals, closer to the center. The flowering period is at the end of June, lasts until the end of October.

Coreopsis grandiflora

Coreopsis krupnotsvetkovy - high to a meter bush, strong erect stems, well branched. Leaves grow oppositely, pinnately dissected form. Inflorescences in the form of baskets are more often yellow in color, pale along the edge are reed petals, and darker inside are tubular petals. Coreopsis whorled

Coreopsis whorled - this variety can grow in one place up to six years. This is a shrub with many branches, with light green foliage. Narrow and long, collected in bunches, the foliage remains green until frost.Coreopsis whorled blooms continuously from early June to September. This coreopsis has many varieties of bright pink, purple, cherry and red colors. In addition, the inflorescences, unlike the previous species, are similar to stars, with narrow reed and small tubular petals. The following varieties are popular in floriculture:

• Zagreb - a plant 40 cm tall, the petals are narrow and sharp at the end, the center is darker, the foliage is long, acicular, bluish-green.
• "Child of the Sun" - a bush up to 30 cm, petals wide, with torn edges, bright yellow color, at the center dark red spots of irregular shape are located.
• Coreopsis whorled "Ruby Red" - attracts with bright crimson color of wide sharply toothed petals, the center of the flower is orange-red, the leaves are narrow, separated by a longitudinal vein. This spectacular variety can grow in partial shade and unpretentious to the ground, resistant to low temperatures. The variety is often used in the design of mixborders, rabatok and other design compositions.
• "Limerok Ruby" - Coreopsis is ruby, the color of the petals on the edge is slightly paler, the center of the flower is orange-brown, the height of the plant is up to 60 cm, it blooms from early summer until late autumn.

Coreopsis pink

Coreopsis pink - a low plant, no more than 40 cm. It is a compact bush with branched stems and unusual foliage. The leaf plates resemble the leaves of cereals or weed leeks. The color of flowers varies from pale white and pink to dark purple and burgundy shades. The flowers are small, up to 2 cm in diameter. The most beautiful varieties:

Coreopsis is uviform

The variety can be called dwarf, its growth does not exceed 30 cm, very rarely reaches 60 cm. It is a dense compact bush with thin branched and strong stems. Leaves are formed in the rosette, growing higher along the stem oppositely, rising only to half its height. The inflorescence baskets look like daisies, the color of the petals is mostly yellow or orange. Flowers bloom in late spring, the diameter of the flower - 4 cm.

• Variety "Zamfir" - orange flowers against the background of dark green foliage attract attention with an unusual shape of petals: wide petals look like either a fan with edges that are somehow broken off, or the crown of a fairy-tale character.
• Sort "Nana" - bright yellow flowers also have an unusual petal shape: the petal is divided into three parts. The central part is wider with a forked edge, two smaller parts are located on both sides and are separated with a clear stripe with the central part, the edge of both side parts is sharp.

Coreopsis in the garden and the flower bed are well combined with sage, Echinops, deerhead, Veronica and delphinium. Plant, among other things, used as a dye in the textile industry.
