In 2016-2017 Ukraine has reduced the supply of wheat in traditional markets

According to APK-Inform, in the current season Ukraine has reduced the export of wheat to key markets such as Egypt, Thailand and Spain. High rates of world wheat production in 2016 caused the development of the situation, which also led to a decline in prices on world markets to a minimum level in the last 10-15 years, increased competition in foreign markets, as well as a significant reduction in demand from importers.

Thus, in the first half of the current season, Ukraine supplied 1.4 million tons of wheat to Thailand, compared with 1.6 million tons in the same period in 2015-2016, and 276 thousand tons to Spain, compared to 827 thousand tons. At the same time, wheat exports to Egypt decreased to 1.06 million tons, compared with 1.3 million tons, due to the periodical introduction and cancellation of the country's requirements for zero ergot content in imported wheat, as well as increased competition from Russia .
