As of February 1, 2017, carryover stocks of grain in agriculture, billet and processing organizations of the Russian Federation amounted to 35.247 million tons, which shows an increase of 3.587 million tons (or as a percentage by 11.3%) compared with the same dates in 2016, said the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) February 17. At the same time, carryover stocks of grain in agricultural organizations increased by 13.1%, or 2.33 million tons, compared to February 1, 2016 - up to 20.15 million tons. Procurement and processing organizations increased the rate by 9.1%, or 1.26 million tons - to 15.1 million tons.
In particular, wheat accounted for the major share of carryover stocks in logging and processing organizations - 10.94 million tons, which is 15.6% more compared to the same period last year, including 7.67 million tons of milled wheat (up to 7, 6%). Rye reserves amounted to 505 thousand tons, which is 10.2% more compared to the figure as of February 1, 2016, including 456 thousand tons of food rye (up to 9.3%). In addition, barley reserves increased to 1.55 million tons (up to 10.5%), buckwheat - 90 thousand tons (up to 64.9%), and millet - 33 thousand tons (up to 2.7 times). At the same time,corn stocks fell to 1.61 million tons (a decrease of 22.5%), oats - 136 thousand tons (a decrease of 8.2%), and rice - 128 thousand tons (a decrease of 7.4%).
