Due to outbreaks of bird flu between Ukraine and the EU, regional restrictions have been imposed

The European Commission made a decision to establish reciprocal regional restrictions between Ukraine and the European Union when it comes to trading in poultry land, which recorded outbreaks of acute viral disease - avian influenza. You can learn more about this decision in the Official Journal of the EU.

Recall that the import of Ukrainian poultry and eggs was stopped by the EU in December last year, but then, on January 30, exports resumed, affecting products from territories where the flu was not seen. The first outbreaks of bird flu in Ukraine in 2016 were recorded by veterinarians on November 30 in the Kherson region. In response, on December 6, 2016, the European Union did not allow the import of Ukrainian poultry meat.

In early January 2017, fresh outbreaks of the disease were detected in Chernivtsi and Odessa regions. As a result, Belarus and Hong Kong also imposed a limit on the import of poultry meat and eggs from these areas.
