Al Fresco Dining Will Never Be The Same

Manhattan eatery Park Avenue knows that when the weather shifts, so do our appetites. The solution? To change menus along with the seasons, adapting its offerings (and its decor) throughout the year. For summer, the restaurant is taking al fresco dining to another level.

Starting today, those looking to enjoy a traditional summer picnic without the accompanying heat and humidity, can take refuge at the Midtown establishment. With an advanced reservation -- 24 hours, to be exact -- the restaurant is serving a full picnic meal, all indoors. In other words, it's the best of both worlds.

Delivered in picnic baskets, the courses include fresh radishes with smoked bone marrow butter and pumpernickel, charred watermelon; pickle-brined fried chicken, cheddar cornbread waffles, strawberry shortcake, and more.

Fret not, the eatery did not forgot the importance of a refreshing summer cocktail. Mix your own drinks table-side with a provided pitcher of chilled Arnold Palmer and a flask of whiskey. Cheers to your best picnic yet!
