Own One Of Jackie O's Maternity Dresses And Never-Before-Seen Kennedy Photos

It's a good week for collectors of Americana. Last Thursday, eBay and Sotheby's joined forces to auction off some rare American treasures, including handwritten research from Ernest Hemingway and a copy of the Declaration of Independence. Now, PEOPLE magazine reports that Los Angeles' Nate. D. Sanders Auctions is set to auction off a maternity dress worn by Jacqueline Kennedy in 1960, while she was pregnant with son John F. Kennedy, Jr., and some family photos owned by White House nanny Maud Shaw.

Bidding on the lot, which includes 79 of Shaw's photographs, will begin at $10,000 when the auction takes place on June 25. According to PEOPLE, the photos are very rare. "They look like the photographs any adoring grandparent might have taken - overlooking the fact that they are the most famous children in the world." Jackie Style author Pamela Keogh told the magazine.

Shaw spent seven years as a nanny to Caroline Kennedy and the late John F. Kennedy, Jr., before retiring and moving back to England in 1965, Today.com notes. The cream maternity dress up for auction was given to Shaw while Kennedy visited her home in London, shortly after Shaw's retirement.

Several other Kennedy relics have been auctioned off in recent months, including a series of letters that Jackie O wrote to some of her favorite fashion designers and a pair of ruby and diamond ear pendants and a matching ring, by Van Cleef & Arpels, that were presented as a wedding gift by Aristotle Onassis in 1968. Other items available from Nate D. Sanders include a dress from Jackie O's controversial vacation to Greece in October 1963 and a pair of plates that John F. Kennedy personally owned and used.
