Ukraine intends to expand the access of land products to the market of the European Union, along with the expansion of exports of dairy and animal products. Taras Kutovoy, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, met with EU Commissioner for Health and Safety Vytenis Andriukaytis, with whom he discussed Ukraine’s plans and the course of their implementation. According to the Ukrainian Minister, at the moment about 277 Ukrainian companies can legally supply their own products in the EU.
Also, at the meeting both sides exchanged their views on the export of animal products and agreed that, first of all, products should be of high quality and safe. "Work with Ukrainian products, according to EU requirements, is carried out on an invariable base and is aimed at preventing unsafe products from being turned into circulation, both for export and for circulation within the country," T. Kutovoy said, adding that 14 Ukrainian manufacturers of dairy products were granted export permits own products to the EU market.
